Latest Aurora 5 kW Dual MPPT

The Aurora 5 kW is a winner for the installer, electrician, and user.  The screen has system controller for custom voltages.  The dual inputs are shown on the photo.  As soon as we opened the dc disconnect the light came on!  Italian engineereed technology should be functioning for no less than 10 years warranty.  The payback is at 5 years, the parts are recyclable.  The panels will most likely see another inverter.

80 Gallon Tank Diagram

This 80 gallon tank is plumbed with a mixing valve.  The supply cold pipe has a 3/4 inch ball valve with flex hoses.  The hot supply to house is plumbed with a thermometer and a mixing valve.   I hope you all can read the notes.

Please follow the diagram and ask questions!  The electrical run is not rocket science but has a quad breaker, which has more wires to protect.  Good luck.

Heliodyne Hot Water Part 1

This hot water tank is mixing water from solar panel, cold water from supply, and water from the top of tank.  The view is of the combo valve, which combines the water from supply and from tank with the water from the heat exchanger.
This diagram explains the process from cold water to solar generated hot water.  The heat exchanger & combo valve heats and moves water to the house or bottom of the tank.  Please read the diagram to help explain the process of thermoexchange.

PV generator main panel connection diagram

The diagram shows four #8 conductors in split phase 240 vAC.  The Green and white conductors are tapped into the ground busbar.  The #6 EGC is also tapped into the ground busbar, which grounds the N, and Equipment ground.  The red and black split phase is tapped into the 1/0 black and red using a compression tap.

36 Panel Job in Kaneohe

This Job was a bit more customized because the roof was not plumb and old.  We had to reinforce the mounting structure with U-strut.  The panels were spaced from left to right, 2, 5, and 5 due to the vent pipes.  The array has two strings of 12 panels.  Surprisingly, the roof looks alot better with the panels.

On this roof, we can see the conduit with four conductor awg #14.  The array has 12 sanyo with microinverters.  The cable coming from the last inverter is attached with the line side #14s' to a double pull switch.  The switch has metal, therefore, a ground green is attached to the switch housing.  The line side has both the black and red.  The load side or PV source side attaches to the other side.  Enjoy

Sunset Beach PV Install (Sanyo 215 Watt)

This array has twenty 215 Watt Sanyo panels wired in two strings.  Enphase inverters are connected to each panel.  This simple plug and play wiring was easy except for the grouding.  Due to the fact that every inverter must be tagged with #6 copper, it was a bit much.  But other than that the system was pretty straight forward.  This picture shows four rows of five.  The A and B string were designed to run up to the JBox to prevent any need for whips.  Enjoy sunset beach and PV.  Sexy
